Carpentree Designs specializes in utilizing native hardwoods and salvaged lumber to craft custom furniture, home decor, and unique gifts. I create because it is what I love to do. I try to oversee as much of each project as possible, that is why I prefer to mill and dry my own lumber. This allows me to maintain my hands on each stage of the build –from tree to table. I believe that furniture should last for generations and stand as a testament to the character of those who built it.
Each cut of timber has its own beauty which is shown throughout the grain and character of the wood, an “organically unique” fingerprint of the natural world. Since I am located on the northern edge of the Ozarks region, I am fortunate enough to have access to some of the best hardwoods in the world. I work with local tree services and landowners to give new life to discarded and storm damaged trees. Many of these trees have already stood generations and my goal is to honor that heritage by making heirloom furniture that will be enjoyed for generations more.
